The Illinois Amish Market works directly with Amish craftsmen and stainers giving us the ability to also have you piece custom stained to match current pieces you may already have in your house. If you have a piece of furniture that you would like to have custom stained we encourage you to make a note of it on your order or contact us and let us know. A majority of the time we can find one of our standard colors that matches but occasionally we may need to have access to the piece you want matched so that we can take it to our stain shops for matching purposes. If there is a need for a sample of current furniture to be sent to us to be matched there is sometimes additional costs incurred. All additional costs will be discussed before any finalized details.
Sometimes we can decide on a color simply through email photos of your current furniture but we remind all of our customers that each computer monitor can show a sligh color difference and in the case of email photos we will send a color block to you to make sure the furniture colors match up. If you have other colors you see on the above wood sample sheet above and would like us to send a block to you let us know. We do require a deposit on all color samples sent to our customers but the entire deposit will be applied to your order when the blocks are returned.
One thing we like to remind all of our clients when ordering a piece of Amish handcrafted furniture is that each piece of wood in unique and will sometimes vary in grain pattern and color. Thats the beauty of using 100% solid hardwoods. Topcoat finish colors can change over time with age and exposure to light. Some woods such as cherry darken over time. Each piece of furniture will have its own characteristics and uniqueness to it which is what makes solid wood furniture an heirloom.
